Hideaki Anno (the director) has been quoted many times saying in the end Evangelion means nothing.

Rofl, that's awesome. It'd have been much better if that hadn't been said though = / All the people trying to explain what it means.... Hilarious.

Never much of an eva fan.

Though, it could have been the weirdo fan-base that turned me away from it.

Oh s**t yes, I started reading the manga, then my obese emo friend came out of the Evan closet to me. The fact that he tries to act exactly like Shinji really turned me off it.

That and Shinji is a sooky little slurry anyway.

Well the creepy fan boys for evangeilion has to do with those kids do not know what evangellion is supposed to be about. It is was a way for Hideaki Anno to work out his depression. I do not know what it is about people who direct robot anime go through a bought with depression. Evangellion ending was kill them all tomino stlye which means the director DID NOT WANT TO MAKE A SEQUEL.

I have always hated Eva. It was just so...EMO. I mean, there were times when I was watching where I just was like "Dear God, what the hell is wrong this show?".
