YEA YEA!! JOIN THE SOS BRIGADE!! (only accepting aliens, vespers, time traveleres, and semi-normal japanese boys...)

what was wrong with the opening song mikhile?
or was it the whole first episdoe.. cuz that one is kinda weird, but it gets better if you give it a chance, and dont mind the lack of chronological story development :)

Yeah, I only watched the opening song, I didn't realise it was supposed to be bad. :p

I watched it again last night and the rest was completely awesome.

I love the first episode. I can't get the song out of my head! Haruhi is brilliant and I'm just disappointed that it's over. Apparently they could make a second series, anyone else heard of that?

well one season of an anime is about 13 episodes

flamingmonkey

Really? I thought that a standard season was 24-26 eps (6 months). Although 13-ish, or a half season, is used for some anime, this where the expected audience is smaller or perhaps due to budget constraints.

demontenchi

no 26 is two season i know i was confussed with that to

hehe I like this series. However it was kinda randomly done. Where the episodes didn't really follow one another. But to each there own I guess.

The correct order of episodes is: 2,3,5,10,13,14,4,7,6,8,1,12,11 then 9 This is the 'true' chronological order of episodes as opposed to the order in which they were shown.

On a somewhat related note, I for one am waiting for season two, which is to be aired sometime in 2008? And to pass the time waiting, I read up to volume 6 of the novels, translated by baka tsuki.

Did you torrent the novels or can you actually by them here?

I read them online at baka tsuki's website, they've currently translated up to volume 9.

This is what someone said on the Haruhi image board:

Project reworked from previously announced second season

The official Japanese website for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya television anime series announced the details of the latest anime project based on the Haruhi Suzumiya science fiction comedy light novels. On Tuesday, the site "disappeared" and displayed a false error message that read, "The page cannot be found." A second message appeared over the first message that announced a program was starting up and prompted the user for a password. If the user enters "K," "N," "S," "A," and "K" (the initials of the family names of the members of SOS brigade, the main characters in the series) into the password fields and selects the radio button to the right, a fake xterm terminal session opens. A series of messages from "YUKI.N" confirms that the key to the "emergency escape program" has been found and asks for a final confirmation before starting the program. Hitting the enter key will open a new page that shows the character Yuki and lists the production credits of the new series.

The page reveals that the previously announced second anime season of Haruhi Suzumiya has been "cancelled" and replaced with a new animation project. Yasuhiro Takemoto (Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Lucky Star) will direct the new project, and Kyoto Animation will still be animating as it did for the first anime project. As in the previous anime project, the fictional "leader" of the new anime project is the character Haruhi Suzumiya herself. The "disappearance" of the website at 4:00 a.m. on December 18 (Japan Standard Time) is a reference to the pivotal date in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, the fourth volume in the light novel series and an apparent indication of which novel plot the anime project will adapt.

Strange how all that actually makes sense to me. Probably read too far ahead in the novel.

WILL WATCH IT! now that I'm officially a hermit! <3

That'd be Baccano!, I should make a thread about it sometime.
