Okay, soo... As I was eating dinner today, I noticed a small report on the new season on Survivor, Survivor 13: Cook Islands. I started watching it, my poor dinner getting cold, and the whole new catch of it is... Dividing the teams by their race. Latinos, Asians, Whites, and Blacks. ( I swear if anyone says "You're not using the right term for those races!", I will find you... and keeel choo D:<... :3 Okay, not really, but yea. ) *cough*

So that's the whole thing, so now alot of people are going "Oh that's racist!" or "Survivor is discriminating! CBS, go dump survivor, liek now!". They were showing several people commenting on it and angry they were and yada yada yada. I'm sorry, soo sorry, call me racist or whatever, but I'm going to be honest here... I laughed my arse off at this.

Members of the New York City Council's "Black, Latino and Asian Caucus" did actually call CBS to dump Survivor: Cook Islands as a stupid and racially divisive program.

So then, what are your thoughts on this, hm? Think it is actually racist? Or did you too laugh at this?

I'm sure not alot of people will be commenting, but eh, what the hey... It's two right now and I'm bored. D: *waves pom-poms* And please, pretty please, constructive comments... I will hit you if it's two words or a half-liner...

Wow. NZ (minus me and everybody else who gives a darn about reality shows) is going to hug the TV screens for this season, is all I can say.

O Rly now? D: I might watch it just to see, probably only the first episode and that's it though. I'll watch reality shows, but I won't really keep up to date with them xP

I say this. WHO GIVES A FLYING FCK.

Whatever. So they're seperated by race... who cares? Get over it. Is it really going to hurt anyone? Gah. STOP BEING SO SENSITIVE YOU LITTLE PANSIES. GAH. This is why I hate liberal ideals. Because they think everything has to be politically correct because we don't want to hurt people's feelings... "oh no, my poor feelings." Shut up. Get over it and live your own life, you little b*tch.

Indeed, I don't get the big deal too. Most game shows (over here anyway) seperate gender, yet nobody says anything about being sexist and whatnot.

Annnnnd, people shouldn't care about such trivial things. As far as I'm concerned, this will only lead to a better sense of teamwork and unity amongst the players.

Well, only when organizations like the NAACP and other race oriented centered organizations are gone will racism maybe go down a bit.

When BET is gone maybe. When you stop getting scholarships based on what you look like, then maybe... just maybe will racism decline. When people stop playing the race card and affirmative action goes away, just maybe will we become a truly free world.

When people actually have incentive to make themselves better instead of blaming their failure on society... perhaps things will get better. But no... only when people that continually look at their race as an excuse for this and that... only when they stop is when people will maybe start doing what's best for them and making themselves better instead of relying on their skin tone to be a skapegoat.

Dirty minds have dirty thoughts. Those who see racism in dividing people by the colour of their skin and claim racism are racist by implying that one is better than the other. I, myself, see people divided according to their skin. As I have very little idea as to the mechanics of this show, I can't judge it too the extent I would like. However, if one group is treated better, I see it as simply favouring one group over another to increase tension and hence ratings- not as any form of racism as all humans are equal regardless of their colour, etc.

I guess the reason why the chose to do that is that minorities were underrepresented in all the seasons before, they wanted to make it an issue for the DRAMA. :)

I met Steve Probst once. He has the deepest dimples I have ever seen.
