I think the book met the 'overrated' standards, so it balances out with the movie to make Fight Club all it's cracked up to be.

Interesting movie.
On a side note; I read a book called Choke by the same author as Fight Club (Chuck somethingorother)...and it made FC seem positively run of the mill. It was weird as hell.

Wow, your logic is awesome! (On a side note, why the hell haven't you left yet?) I can imagine you complaining to a cinema; 'yeah...I want my money back...something tells me the film just won't be as good the second time round, and as such, I feel ripped off this time'
Want to know why it isn't as good the second time? Because of the fuck-off huge twist that changes the whole way you watch the film.
If anything, it's awesome the second time, as you're paying attention to the fact Brad Pitt isn't real, and you realise the number of little things that didn't totally make sense the first time round.

Look up Wikipedia, it goes through a whole list (not literally) of things you wouldn't otherwise notice.
Like how Edward Norton becomes increasingly thin to represent his increasing dislike of himself, while Brad Pitt keeps getting fitter etc.
