We're going to take out some of the ranks and add Custom titles. Now, instead of just doing this just how Neil and I want, we're asking you what you guys think. Which ones do you want to take out of the list and where do you think it's fair to have the post counts?


Now, I'm letting you know that right now we're sitting at Custom User Titles at 1500 posts. This is because we don't just want anyone getting them. Only people that are going to be here long term.

i declare shenanigans. i've been here for over a year. just coz i'm not a postwhore i have to wait another year to use this feature?If you don't post as much then why do you need/want a Custom User title? A newbie could lurk around for over a year and not post and call shenanigans in a way.

If the logic behind this thing is rewarding posters then it seems fair. Otherwise, go with User Groups for people like Shape. And maybe others.

EDIT: Setting the custom titles to 1500 posts for the mere sake of only letting longtime members have them is about as ridiculous as having disabled the font size option due to it being used.

It may yet just be a selective process where only people we feel should have them can have them, but the post count way means anyone would have the chance to have one.

You should make them all write an essay on why they feel that they deserve a custom user title with a detailed explanation as to why the one they'd like to use is significant and appropriate.

Something like this in conjunction with a LOWER minimum required post count. I think 500 is a reasonable number.
