Ninja Scrolls

i would just like to know if anyone knows if Ninja Scrolls was a sequal to anything. at some point during the movie i got the feeling it was and have not been able to locate this information anywhere. any help would be apreciated as i loved ninja scrolls and would love to see more of it.

Well, there is a Ninja Scroll and it's not a sequel to anything. Then there are the Ninja Resurrection movies which are supposed to be sequels but they're not even based on the original movie. In fact, they're made by completely different anime studios.

i just saw ressurection and was very dissapointed to find it had nothing to do with the original movie.

My friend told me to try it so I downloaded first episode and I didn't really like it. It wasn't my type of anime...it seemed to me to be a bit too old? o.O;

ya the only thing that ninja scroll and Ninja Resurrection have in commen that they both have the charater named Yagyū Jūbei Mitsuyosh. Now Jubei is actualy based on a real guy in japanese history, he was this famous samurai from the feudal era of japan. he was also a a instructure of swordsman ship. To make the story short he leaves to go on his Warrior's Pilgrimage. now when he left there was no records of him for about 12 years, i mean nothing. so many people see this as a opertunity to make up a story to fill that gap of 12 years.so basicly same dude just a different way to fill in those 12 years of his life.
