Generally speaking, it's how you wake up and what happens in the morning. Then again, your mood changes a lot of things. No matter what's going on around you, there is the possibility of keeping a good attitude and having a 'good day' no matter what happens based purely on your perspective.

Psh, so petty. :P You choose if the day will be good or bad. Today I had the choice to let the day be good or bad. I had to go out on a wiring job and it sucked hardcore. But you know what? I sucked it up, smiled and decided to have a good day. I ended up making the most of it and I ended up having a really good day.

Try if everyone uses up all the water in your state so you can't shower for more than 4 minutes. Every day would be a bad day. Oh, wait. It is. Because. THIS. IS. AUSTRALIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Bad days can be good if you want them to be, with the exeption of about 3-5 events, that ruin a day.
1) Someone close to you dying
2) Someone breaking up with you
3) Being violently ill
4) Some act of violence in the world, that affects you (fire, flood, etc.)
5) Cramps. You can turn this into a good day, but it is really, really, REALLY, hard...

Okay... that is about the most emo thing I have heard in a LONG time...

Agreed. And with five...? Yeah, it's pretty much impossible to make a good day if that happens... tis possible, though...
Oh, and one thing that will pretty much make an instant good day no matter what happens: When you wake up smiling in the morning.
That usually makes it pretty damn impossible to have a BAD day.
