well, today was. . .interesting.

my parents grabbed me and threw me in the car [not literally] and said to me "sarah, we're goin to grand rapids to go to the butterfly exhibit". i didn't have much of a choice, so i sat in the car for 2 fucking hours. now, during those 2 hours, i got sleepy. i was in the back seat, sittin on the right and i was hella tired, so layed down [screw grammar right now] and i fell asleep. when i woke up, i sat up and tried unbuckling and moving to the left seat, but when i unbuckled myself, i was not released completely. the strap was somehow wrapped around my waist/stomach tightly and the only way out was impossible because the seatbelt was locked, so i couldn't pull it to make the wrappage not as tight. the only way out now was to magically become thin as a stick and slip out - not happening. it was getting tighter because, as you know, when its locked, it pulls it like back until its satisfied. my body mass was in the way, so it just tightened up on my waist/stomach. it was uber tight when my parents realized, and we pulled over [we were on the highway, mind ya]. my mom pointed out that if we didn't get it off, it could rupture my internal organs and kill me either from that or suffocation, so my dad cut it off. and thats that.

its hard to explain verbally, but i tried my best.

That could only be described as the most back ass wards story ever. I read it 5 times and it still makes no sense, how did the seat belt magicle tighten around you after you unbuckled it? Perhaps the story would make more sense if rewritten but for now lawl at your "near death" experience.

Well, good to know you made it out. Life can be ripped away from us so easily these days. So, be grateful!

Well, lets pretend you were buckled in. Lets now pretend that you pulled on the strap to the maximum. Now, you cannot pull it any further. The strap is now locked, and it begins to pull it back. It produces a clicking noise as it does so, and you are unable to pull it more until it has been [trying not to commit suicide as i try typing this] in the original position, like as if nobody were sitting there. Because my body mass was in the way, it stayed locked and continuted to try to get back to the original position, but instead of accomplishing that, it tightened around my waiste. I hope that helped explain. ^^;

uhhh a Ford. . .*thinks*. . .escape? i think so, but i'm not sure.

Ooh, that sounds rather unpleasant.

Nonetheless, it's a good thing you're alright now.

i've heard of people getting trapped in their cars before after having an accident.....but still seat belts save more lives and prevents more injuries than they cause.....if that makes any sense...little sleepy right now and words just aren't coming out right:(

Go go paranoid conspiracy theory! Seat belts designed to take lives! It saves you enough times so you'd trust it, then swish, it tightens and crushes you! Say no to seat belts!

But seriously though, that does sound rather awful, a fault in the design I suppose. My seat belt never done anything remotely similar to that though :/
