Yes ladies and gentlemen it is true...Avril Lavigne has her own manga :eek: . Depending on how you look at it, this is other the saddest day in the history of manga lovers or this is the greatest moment of your life. For me, it's a little bit of both... seeing as how I am an Avril Lavigne fan and a manga fan as well. Unfortunatly, I am also a Courtney Love fan and was stupid enough to buy that crappy manga of her's, so I don't think I'm laible to talk about musicians taking an intrest in Japanese manga. lol. It's not that bad though. I went on the website and watched the slideshow thingie that on there and it is actually kind of interesting. At least she isn't out there trying to make it seem like she's some kind of angel like Courtney Love did. The way its writen is very good and the artwork isn't half bad.

Because it's Avril Lavigne. Think about it. She started out a country girl and when the record industry told her that she'd make it as a punk/pop singer she jumped right on board. Then, she has the gull to say that she's the only 'true' punk band out there right now. OMG. I want to punch her. She's such a fake money grubbing b*tch. I hate her. :D

I'll give the manga a go. Because the guy behind the scenes writing the thing out is quite good, apparently.

And besides, Avril is just "another character" in it. They could've just used anybody really.

Pop singer Avril Lavigne has teamed up with Del Rey Manga, an imprint of Random House, to publish Make 5 Wishes, the company’s first American manga. The first volume of Make 5 Wishes will be released in April, shortly before Lavigne’s album, The Best Damn Thing, hits stores. The second volume will come out in July.

According to Del Rey Manga, the story follows “introverted teenager Hana [as she] stumbles upon a website that will change her life forever. After a demon grants her a series of wishes that go bad, Hana meets her hero Avril Lavigne.” The artist for Make 5 Wishes is Camilla D’Errico; the writer is Joshua Dysart.

It seems to me though that he's the kind of sci-fi, horror, crime-noir kind of guy.
Yeah but his work seems more like DC comic books, than like say Tokyopop manga.For some reason thats what I thought it would be like.
