I Howl

"Standing on this peak,
I feel the change coarsing through my blood.
Everything about me is changing.
I am growing fur, and my body is changing shape.

A wolf.
I am a werewolf.
And the moon is full.

There is bloodlust in my body.
I can try to fight it,
But in the end I know it will win.
My mind is already starting to leave me.

Why?
I can change at will.
On the full moon I must change.
On the full moon I lose me to the wolves.

I glance up at the moon,
And feel it beginning to consume me.

No.
I will fight it.
The change makes me kill when the moon is full:
I won't harm innocent souls.

So instead I will howl against the moon.

I step onto the edge of the peak,
My claws clicking softly against the stone.
And then...
Then I howl.

I howl as the moon consumes me.
As I turn into a cold blooded killer...

I howl for the lives I know will be lost;
And one of them will be mine..."
